5 go mad in Hastings (nearly)...part two

Ok folks apologies in advance; there maybe a few hold ups on the motorway this Bank Hols as the girls are off on their jollies to St.Leonards on Sea to stay with their new chums at the Aardvark Tea Room & Gallery and they're all a bit excitable, so anything could happen.

The first group are heading down as there's a spiffy Art's Festival going on this month and the girls felt they just had to be in on the action.

The other 5 are a bit put out by it but they aren't finished and they couldn't possibly be seen in public without their stitching on...you know how it is?!

So, you've met Bazza Manilow's Lola the Chihuahua so now I would like to introduce you to:
Lesley Gore vs Kojak Pugthankyouverymuch!

See puggy all watercoloured right up in shades of lilacs with dribblings of blues and lovely sunny yellowy oranges!

With a face only a mother could love and bit on the "vertically challenged" side (10cm x 12cm to be precise!), she's trying to keep her pecker up inspite of it all:

My life is:
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
'Cause you're in love, you're in love,
And love is here to stay!

Trying to stay positive there with her words all in rainbowy stitching and a positive deluge of lovely lollies bouncing around the joint

But hold on to your Chupa Chups! Would you believe it?

It's only bloody Kojak!! Look at that, he's choffed one down already! I mean really, how rude...I'll give 'im "who loves ya baby?" round the ear'ole....lolly choffing git

Mind you he's going to know about it in the morning, what with the stitchy sun bouncing off his bonce like that

Anyway she's got her lilo packed and she's piled into the motor with Lola (she's got dibs on the front seat) and now they're just waiting for the others....be blogged soon folks!

So if you're at a loose end during Sept get yourself along to St.Leonards, treat yourself to tea, cakey, culture and a wee bit of Mimi Loving!

Thanks for droppin by! x;0)

Doggy paddle...part one...

ooooo I do like to be beside the seaside
ooooo I do like to be beside St.Leonards-on-Sea
ooooo I do like to be beside the prom prom prom prom

Failing that though the Aardvark Tearoom will be pretty minty too!

And that my bloggy chums is precisely where this *wee one (and her homies) will be heading for...yay!! I may live in the farthest point from any seasidey lovliness in the country but I can be there by the medium of painty stitchyness!

So if you're in the St.Leonards on sea vicinty ...(hold your horses i've not finished yet mind!)...but in a couple of weeks-ish time there should be a pack of stitchy hounds and various other chums heading that way....rest assured I shall keep you informed of progress

In the meantime go and buy one of their frankly gorgeous manifesto's from their Etsy joint...they're based on old stylee wrestling posters and include all sorts of wonderful instructions, including cake making and kazoo playing...huzzah!

*oo and you remember the new minitures (Mimitures?) I've been threatening for yonks? Well this is they! Half the size and yet curiously twice the work...ooo my achey mince pies!

So without further ado...introducing Lola

A tiddly chihuahua all watercoloury in golds and oranges and sloshy purples

She was a show girl with yellow (and metallicy gold silk) feather's in her hair but she's a bit cream crackered now what with all the Merengue-ing and Cha Cha-ing, so she's having a bit of a rest there in the undergrowth

Clashing colours? Yeah baby - pinks, oranges, reds and purples. Glittering purple french knots, gold glass beads and Baz Manilow in blues and mauves..it's all in there

These new pieces measure a very cute 10cm x 12cm...pocket size if you will, and feature my usual restrained watercolour challenged renderings with big old bunch of stitching and beadyness

Stay tuned folks cos that's not all...next up is possibly the most fun I'm having on a piece of canvas..."Who loves ya baby?"......I'll say no more ;0)

Thanks for droppin' by! x;)

Pen ...ny...Pals!

Now, as you may know I do like a bit of custom, personalized portrait action; be it cats to caterpillars, terriers to turtles, chickens to childrens, you got 'em I'll paint 'em!

Well, this piece is actually for two imaginary furry friends...how cool is that!?

So this is an Etsy, (imaginary) pet portrait commission from my Phat Quarter homie Donkeywolf (aka Penny Nickels); arty, printy, stitchy, spinny genius all wrapped up in a lovely laydee package!

The painty/stitchyness is a wee gift for THE one and only Manbroiderer: Johnny Murder, Penny's man of her heart, stitcher extraordinaire and currently recovering from pokey spinal surgery (just saying those words makes me feel all shoogly!)

The main painting is of a bear cub and his wee piglet chum as requested and the lyrics from John's fave tune. I was let loose by Penny for the rest so I had a good old rifle though photostreams and blogs for inspirational bits and pieces! :)

Once again just to reassure you, if you would like to commission a piece of your own, I do keep these things the right side of stalking, so fear not, you wont find your pin number and dental records festooned with beads and Barry Manilow lyrics!

So without further ado I present...

PennyPals-thankyouverymuch!

Meet the guys! Bear cub there, all soft blue and grey tones with hints of lilac and tan and sitting in front Piggy in delicate pinks and lilacs with whiffs of cobalt and red!

And here they are again!
Just sitting amongst the undergrowth, shooting the breeze and wondering what to get up to next!

A flurry of leaves and Fleetwood Mac lyrics run through the canvas and wrap themselves around the 2 friends

"If you wake up and don't want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,
Open your eyes and look at the day,
You'll see things in a different way."

There's all sorts of leafery and various bits and pieces; a scattering of red, gold and pink beads in amongst the undergrowth and some wee glittery french knot berries for them to chow down on for lunch...there's also a Dr.Pepper bush should they get thirsty!

Off in the distance wee piggy n his cubby chum are discussing the days events whilst walking home into the Telethon sunset! :)

I am relieved to say the guys have made their way through customs, quarantine and a long haul flight and are settling in nicely in their new home in the USofA

So a huge THANK YOU to Penny for trusting me with her imaginary friends and a big healing, not too hard "hope you're feeling better soon!" hug for Mr.Johnny x:)

Now can't sit around here all day blogging about with you lot, I've got a selection of small dogs to stitch...(obviously, not literally as clearly that would be wrong)
Thanks for droppin' by! x;)
