Doggy paddle...part one...

ooooo I do like to be beside the seaside
ooooo I do like to be beside St.Leonards-on-Sea
ooooo I do like to be beside the prom prom prom prom

Failing that though the Aardvark Tearoom will be pretty minty too!

And that my bloggy chums is precisely where this *wee one (and her homies) will be heading for...yay!! I may live in the farthest point from any seasidey lovliness in the country but I can be there by the medium of painty stitchyness!

So if you're in the St.Leonards on sea vicinty ...(hold your horses i've not finished yet mind!)...but in a couple of weeks-ish time there should be a pack of stitchy hounds and various other chums heading that way....rest assured I shall keep you informed of progress

In the meantime go and buy one of their frankly gorgeous manifesto's from their Etsy joint...they're based on old stylee wrestling posters and include all sorts of wonderful instructions, including cake making and kazoo playing...huzzah!

*oo and you remember the new minitures (Mimitures?) I've been threatening for yonks? Well this is they! Half the size and yet curiously twice the work...ooo my achey mince pies!

So without further ado...introducing Lola

A tiddly chihuahua all watercoloury in golds and oranges and sloshy purples

She was a show girl with yellow (and metallicy gold silk) feather's in her hair but she's a bit cream crackered now what with all the Merengue-ing and Cha Cha-ing, so she's having a bit of a rest there in the undergrowth

Clashing colours? Yeah baby - pinks, oranges, reds and purples. Glittering purple french knots, gold glass beads and Baz Manilow in blues and mauves..it's all in there

These new pieces measure a very cute 10cm x 12cm...pocket size if you will, and feature my usual restrained watercolour challenged renderings with big old bunch of stitching and beadyness

Stay tuned folks cos that's not all...next up is possibly the most fun I'm having on a piece of canvas..."Who loves ya baby?"......I'll say no more ;0)

Thanks for droppin' by! x;)

Oooo a wee canvas! So delightful. I know small is just as much work but there's just something so appealing about small pieces. Well done Mimi dear....your painty stitchiness never fails to make me smile.
I really love this little canvas with the little dog (and the lyrics and the colours...)
And I also like the manifesto a lot!
Oh yes, definitely a 'Lola' - what an adorable pooch (and canvas)! Lesley
Mimilove, as a fellow embroiderer, I have to ask: how the HELL do you stitch corners of canvas? Must. Know.
